Jackie Lee “Jack” Beamon, 79, of Albany, GA passed away on July 2, 2021 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted on July 8, 2021 at 11:00 am at Mathews Funeral Home. Mr. Ross Powell will officiate. Interment will follow in Andersonville National Cemetery with Military Honors.
Jack was born February 7, 1941 in New Smyrna Beach, FL to the late L.C. and Thelma Beamon. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed with the Department of Transportation as a mechanic. He was a member of the VFW and had served as Post Commander at the local Albany VFW Post in Albany. In addition to his parents Jack was preceded in death by his wife Martha Ann Beamon.
Jack enjoyed bluegrass music and played many instruments including the guitar. He was a huge fan of the Atlanta Braves and enjoyed watching football games. But what brought Jack the most joy in life was spending time with his family.
Survivors include his children Lilian Beamon King, Lee Monzell Beamon (Yvonne), Lorraine Vargas - Townsend (Cynthia), Jannette Louise Wagner (Alex James), step children Bobbie Jo Hicks, Lisa Watson, sister Ora Jane Henderson (Tom), 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
