Gaylon Ramsey

Gaylon E. “Donut” Ramsey, 79, of Lee County, GA, died July 2, 2025 at his residence, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. The Reverend Kyle Mackey will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg, GA.

Gaylon was born in Columbus, MS on April 29, 1946 to Franklin and Lois Ramsey. He and his wife, Lucia were both military brats and ended up in Chicopee, MA where they met. They were sweethearts at Chicopee Comprehensive High School and graduated 1964. Gaylon and Lucia were married in 1967 at Warner Robins Air Force base one year before he graduated from Duke University. He was employed with Authur Anderson as a Certified Public Accountant for 3 years in Atlanta, GA before they moved to Albany, GA 1978 where Lucia’s parents owned the local Krispy Kreme.

Gaylon owned Gaylon Ramsey CPA’s firm. After Lucia’s fathers’ retirement, Gaylon and Lucia owned and managed Krispy Kreme for many years until his retirement, notice the nickname, “Donut”. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Doublegate Country Club, Kiwanis Club, and Rotary Club. Gaylon loved tennis, golf and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Lucia Ramsey of Lee County, GA, his children, Lisa (Mike) Seymour of Lee County, GA, Jeff (Kathy) Ramsey, of Dunwoody, GA, two half-brothers, John Logan of Ferney, NV, Robert Logan of Elk Grove, CA, sister-in-law, Deb Whitaker from Lexington, SC, grandchildren, Jacob (Rylie) Seymour of Lee County, GA, Emily (Anthony) Felix of Columbus, GA, Whit Ramsey of Athens, GA and Rex Ramsey of Dunwoody, GA.

He will be forever missed by his English Cocker, Bailey.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am before the service at St. Paul’ Episcopal Church.
