Robert “Scott” Bonnell passed away, Thursday, April 15, 2021 in Tallahassee, Florida. The family will receive friends Monday 5 to 7 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.  The family will have a private graveside service. A native of Clarksburg, West Virginia, Rev. Scott Bonnell moved to Albany, GA in 1970. In 1991, Scott and his family moved to Tallahassee, FL where he attended Florida Baptist Theological College. He retired from Amoco/Sing Oil Company and was licensed and ordained into the Gospel Ministry in 1999. Scott joined the Board of Directors of Most High Ministries in 2006. In 2007, Scott became the Executive Director of Most High Ministries and also founded Hope To Haiti, a non-profit organization. Scott has invested his life into the lives of the most impoverished and forgotten people, especially the children, around the world. His burning passion was to help the poorest of the poor. He spent much of his time in Haiti overseeing projects and implementing new efforts to help relieve those in Haiti. In 2012, Scott received a proclamation from Leon County Florida naming him a "Community Treasure" for his humanitarian efforts both foreign and domestic. In 2013, Mayor John Marks and the City of Tallahassee recognized Scott as part of "National Caribbean Heritage Month”, for his efforts in Haiti. Scott loved his family, friends, University of Georgia football, long motorcycle rides, and live music. Scott was preceded in death by his paternal parents, Jennings and Leona Bonnell and his maternal grandparents, Ed and Gladys Winans. His father, Charles Bonnell, brother, Gregg Bonnell and brother-in-law, Ben Weaver. Survivors include the mother of his children, Lisa Garrett Bonnell, sons, Jacob (Orlando, FL), Ethan, his wife Taylor and daughter Aria (Asheville, NC), daughter, Chloe (Tallahassee, FL), mother, Sue Bonnell (Baconton, GA) sister, Cheryl Weaver (Baconton, GA), nephew, Ricardo Jones (Baconton, GA), sister-in-law, Lesa Bonnell (Buford, GA), niece Brittany Bonnell (Cumming, GA), niece Brooke and her husband Kyle Hutcheson (Cumming, GA)  and two great-nieces, Tate Bonnell and Kennedy Hutcheson (Cumming, GA).
