John Anglon

John Anglon

John William Anglon, 39, of Baconton, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2020 at UF Health Shands Hospital after a lengthy illness. A huge Georgia Bulldogs fan, Mr. Anglon was a native of Baconton, and was born September 17, 1981 in Albany, GA. He was a 2000 graduate of Darsey Private School. Upon graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps. He served 12 years as an Aviation Mechanic for CH-53 Super Stallion Helicopters. He had the opportunity to serve his country proudly and humbly with numerous deployments to various countries. He made and remained close friends with several of the guys in his squadron. He discharged from the USMC with the rank of Staff Sergeant.  Upon his discharge, he returned to Georgia, and worked in Construction Management at MCLB. He also attended Albany Technical College and earned numerous certificates and degrees in. While in high school, he met his future wife, Jessica. They were together for 22 years with 17 of those years as husband and wife. They have two beautiful daughters, Emily and Haley. When he wasn’t crafting furniture or working on his honey do list, he could be found cheering on his Georgia Bulldogs and spending quality time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, William Hoyt Hancock; brother, Davis Allen Hancock; and grandparents, John William and Bernice Pittman. Survivors include his wife, Jessica Stull Anglon of Baconton; daughters, Emily Anglon and Haley Anglon of Baconton; mother, Joyce Kay Hancock of Baconton; sister, Tonya (Dale) Curles of Albany; brother, Sean (Missy) Casey of Albany; sister Shary (Dale) Ellsworth of Albany; and many nieces and nephews. Since he wanted to have a huge Halloween party, the family will have a gathering on October 31, 2020 in his honor at his residence.
