Doris Louise Singletary O'Connor

Doris Louise Singletary O’Connor, 81, of Albany, GA died Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at her residence. Memorial services will be conducted Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Chad Ellis and Rev. Roy Cook will officiate.

Born in Ocilla, GA, Mrs. O’Connor was educated in the Irwin Co. School System and moved to Albany, GA in 1967. She was a waitress and hostess at several local restaurants including Palmyra Supper Club, Lloyd’s Restaurant, Carr’s Steak House and retiring from Merry Acres Restaurant. Her hobbies included gardening and baking. She was a member of Gillionville Baptist Church where she was active in the church choir and the Women of Faith Sunday School Class.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jeff Lee Singletary and Ruby Bruce Singletary, her husband, Raymond Paul O’Connor, Jr., brother, Buddy Singletary, a sister, Pat Stringer and a beloved pet “Nick”.

Survivors include, children, Ricky Godwin (Marlene),, Tifton, GA, Tina Godwin Lewis (Chad Key), Lee Co., GA and Terri Godwin Macolly (Phil) of Albany, GA, step-children, Mark O’Connor (Heather), Albany, Terri O’Connor Peck (Wayne), Cuthbert, GA, Karen O’Connor Floyd (Jimmy), Leesburg, GA, grandchildren, Dayne Godwin (Paige Darrow), Melissa Dills (Michael Dupree), Jessica Holt (Rob), Ann Marie Hillard (C.J.), Elizabeth O’Connor, Raeanne O. Williams (Dalton), great-grandchildren, Eric Dills (Samantha), Elizabeth Dills, Stephen Connor, Troy Connor, Hudson Hillard, Jack Hillard, brother, Carroll Singletary, Irwinville, GA, sisters, Betty Jo Reeves, Vidalia, GA, Faye Sumner, Chula, GA, Ginger Stringer (Carlton), Irwinville, GA, many loved nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at Mathews Funeral Home.
