Zila Rowe Bamford Hacquebord

Zila Rowe Bamford Hacquebord, 85, of Albany, GA died Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Palmyra Nursing Home. A memorial service will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Beacon Baptist Church. Rev. Reagan Marsh will officiate.

A native of Genoa City, WI, Mrs. Hacquebord had lived in Albany since 1959 moving from Winter Park, FL. She was a member of Beacon Baptist Church. Mrs. Hacquebord was preceded in death by her husbands, Bud Bamford and George Hacquebord, a son, Terry Bamford, her parents, Arthur Charles Rowe and Ina Mae Follett Rowe, five sisters, Vivian Belcher, Nellie Bauman, Marge Lindvig, Carol Hacquebord,, and Ida Mae Ketcherside, three brothers, Arnom Rowe,Clifford Rowe and John Rowe.

When she and her first husband, Bud Bamford, moved to Albany she managed his crop dusting business for twenty five years. In later years she worked at Bank of America at the switchboard. Mrs. Hacquebord came from a large family with Godly parents who taught her a strong work ethic, love of country and unconditional love for others. She always saw the good in everyone. Mrs. Hacquebord taught Ladies Sunday School for thirty years at Byne Memorial Baptist Church and Beacon Baptist Church. She was known for her Bible knowledge even after the onset of Alzeimer's. She hosted many Bible studies in her home and Backyard Bible Clubs in her home.

She was a gifted writer of poetry and wrote her Christmas letters in poems. Many friends and family members looked forward to her poems each year. She enjoyed her grandchildren, doing crossword puzzles and watching "The Gaithers". Her best birthday present ever was to walk through the gates of Heaven and see her Jesus.

Survivors include, two daughters and sons-in-law, Ivy and Dick Sceals of Albany, GA, Annette and Brad Hill of Tallahassee, FL, three sons and two daughters-in-law Bobby and Patti Bamford of Orlando, FL, Bill and Sandy Bamford of Albany, GA and Barry Bamford of Albany, GA, eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 am at Beacon Baptist Church until service time.
