Wynderlyn “Wyndy” Wilkinson Davis, 89, of Lee County, GA, formerly of DeSoto, GA passed away Friday, April 17, 2026 at The Willson Hospice House surrounded by her loving family. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 1:00 pm at DeSoto Church in DeSoto, GA. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm at the Church Fellowship Hall.
Wyndy was born in DeSoto, GA on September 6, 1936 to Thad and Sara Wilkinson. She grew up in DeSoto and graduated from Union High School in 1954. That same year she married Joseph A. “Bubber” Davis III and resided in DeSoto her entire life before moving to Lee County, GA in 2006.
She was a member of DeSoto United Methodist Church (now DeSoto Church) and was the Bookkeeper and Runner of the Show at DeSoto Gin and Peanut Company for many years before her retirement. She was the best cook in the world and loved fishing with Bubber at Keaton Beach. More than anything, she loved being “Sugar” to Bubber, “Mama” to her children, and “Mimi” to all her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Lindsey Short, and her siblings Bud Wilkinson and Nancy Tucker. Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Bubber Davis of Lee County, GA, her children, Lorrie Davis McDowell of DeSoto, GA, Joseph Addison Davis IV (Linda) of Albany, GA, and Amy Davis of Albany, GA, a sister, Sara Mixon Franklin (Jim) of Loganville, GA, grandchildren, Conley Short (Brittany), Alisha McDowell, Natalie Stephens (Jimmy), Sara Frances Norris (Ryan), Keaton Short, Jimmy Pyle, Melissa Pyle, Aaron Herring (Jessica), Ashley Davis (Anna) , Jaymen Davis and Jake Davis, and her great-grandchildren, Zoey McDowell, Bentley Thompson, Hadley Stephens, Emma Short, Addison Concillio, Presley Short, Jaxson Short, Weston Norris, Joseph Pyle, and Vincent Herring.
