Wray "Vaughn" Herdman, 88, of Albany, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at his residence. His wishes were to be cremated and services will be held at a later date.
Vaughn was known not only for his professional achievements but also for his dedication to family and community. He graduated from Cincinnati with a degree in chemical engineering and went on to retire from his successful career in the Scapa industry. His contributions to his field were notable, and he was respected by his peers.
Beyond his professional life, Vaughn had many interests that enriched his life and the lives of those around him. He was a member of Huntington Beach State Park in South Carolina, where he enjoyed spending time at the beach. Wray and his wife of 34 years Betty Ruth spent most of their life togather in Myrtle Beach, SC. before moving to Albany, GA.
Along side his wife Vaughn is survived his children, Eric Vaughn Herdman of Las Vegas, NV, Dr. Marc Herdman of Columbus, OH, Paul Thrower of Sumter, SC, and Melanie Thrower Mock of Blackshear, GA. He was also a devoted grandfather to five grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life.
Vaughn was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Christa Thrower.
