Winifred Dunahoo Waller

Winifred Dunahoo Waller, 97, of Dawson, Georgia, passed away peacefully May 6, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving husband and family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at The Chapel at Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Olds officiating. Special music will be provided by Charles Jones. Internment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Dawson. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service in at Mathews Funeral Home.

Winifred was born on October 21, 1927, in Ft. Gaines, Georgia, to Gus and Madge Brown Dunahoo. After graduating from Cuthbert High School, she began her career in Dawson where she met and later married the love of her life, William Wayne (Buck) Waller.
She worked for General Telephone Company until her retirement. Winifred was a member of Dawson Presbyterian Church. She found great fulfillment in gardening with her husband and cooking.

In addition to her parents, Winifred was preceded in death by her siblings: Norma(John) Wilkie; Doris(Woodrow) Cornett; Jack Dunahoo; Mary (Lamar) Chapman; Ernest (Ruby) Dunahoo and Ralph (Mariam) Dunahoo.

She is survived by her husband, Buck, of Dawson and just celebrated 76 years of marriage. She is also survived by her sister Betty (Wes) Hacker of Albany, Georgia, and numerous nieces and nephews.
