Willis Askew

The funeral service of Willis Askew, 75, of Lee County, GA, who died May 17, 2011 at his residence, will be conducted Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 4:00 P.M. at Thundering Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Gerry Dorre and Mr. Shane Taylor will officiate. Interment will follow in Thundering Springs Cemetery.

A native of Iron City, GA, Mr. Askew had lived most of his life in Lee County. He was retired from Lee County Road Department and a member of Thundering Springs Baptist Church and the Men's Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his wife, Nadine Knight Askew of Lee County, GA, six sons, Leonard (Michelle) Askew of Leesburg, GA, Cecil Allen (Dottie) Askew, Freddy (Vicky) Askew and Carlton (Cindy) Israel all of Lee County, GA, Mitchell (Lanora) Askew of Wildwood, FL and Tommy (Karen) Askew of Lee County, GA, four daughters, Brenda (Johnny) White of Lee County, GA, Ruthann (Billy) Howell of Bainbridge, GA, Connie (Vernon) Walls and Tammy (Tony) Moree all of Lee County, GA, a brother, Billy Askew of Americus, GA, two sisters, Nora Henegar of Lee County, GA and Wanda Gail Stenson of Iron City, GA, twenty one grandchildren and twenty five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Mathews Funeral Home.
