William Wood

William Sammy Wood, 73, of Baconton, GA passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Archbold Medical Center, Thomasville, GA. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Chris Turner will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Born in Albany, GA, Mr. Wood had resided in Mitchell Co., GA all of his life. He was a retired pipefitter and plumber. He attended Lighthouse Ministries and was preceded in death by his parents, William B. Wood and Claudia Mae Lewis Wade and his wife Barbara Janice Wood.

Survivors include his children, William Charles (Billy) Wood, Lee Co., GA, Benjamin Scott (Scotty) Wood, Robertsdale, AL, Christopher James (Chris) Wood, Mitchell Co., GA and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at Mathews Funeral Home.
