William Robert Riley

William R. Riley, 81, of Leesburg, GA, died December 30, 2023 at his residence.  Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, January 5, 2024 at 11:00 am at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Rev. Grady Morey will officiate.

Mr. Riley was born August 8, 1942 in Newton, GA to Theodore and Rosa Riley.  He grew up and attended Baker County Schools before joining the United States Army.  After his service to his Country, he moved to Albany, GA and was employed with MacGregor Corporation for thirty-two years.

Following his retirement, he was employed as a jailer with the Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office, worked Security at the Albany Mall and was employed with Defender Services.  Mr. Riley was e member of Travelers Rest Baptist Church and the American Legion Post # 30.

Survivors include his children, Bill (Virginia) Riley of Worth County, GA, Lisa Brown of Albany, GA and Elaine (George) Bendzen of Marble, NC, a sister, Latrell (Tommy) Jones of Leesburg, GA, his grandchildren, B.J. (Wayne) Walls, Katelyn Walters, Samantha (Ben) Walters, Champ (Marissa) Brown, Becca (Hayes) Brown, Lance Brown, twelve great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends following the graveside service at Floral Memory Gardens.
