William David Harrison

William David Harrison, 85, of Leesburg, GA., died Sunday, May 17, 2026 at his residence. A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Andrew Kornegay will officiate.

David was born in Blakely, GA., to the late Samuel and Gladys Harrison, Sr. He worked for the City of Albany as a heavy equipment operator and retired in 2002 after 28 years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, and eating breakfast with his friends at Jack's. David enjoyed telling stories that always seemed to end in a joke. David loved to make everyone laugh. He was always quick to tell his grandchildren how he "loved them more." David loved his family greatly and was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings, Samuel C. Harrison, Jr., Ennis Milton Harrison, Ronnie Jo Harrison and Jeweldene Harrison Glass.

Survivors include his loving wife of fifty years, Mary Ellen Harrison, his children, Randy Harrison (Denise), Ricky Harrison (Mandy) and Melissa Davis (Brian), his grandchildren, Rachel Clark (Glenn), Lindsey Walsh (Johnny), Emily Cannon (Jonathan), Jacklyn Dueitt (Alex), Jalyn McVey (Shelby), Madyson Davis and Ayden Davis, thirteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive family/ friends at his residence immediately following the service.
