William "Bill" F. Brown Jr.

William "Bill" Brown, 64, of Baconton, GA passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Archbold Mitchell County Hospital. Funeral services will held Monday, November 21, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home followed by interment at Mount Enon Cemetery in Baconton. Pastor Bruce English will officiate.

Bill was born in Macon, GA to William Billy Brown and Thelma Hayes Brown. He attended school at Riverview Academy until his father was transferred his Junior year. While in school Bill played sports such as baseball and football. He graduated from Rockmart High School in 1976.  He was 2^nd generation Southern Company employee. He traveled early in his career with Georgia Power, working with Plant Mitchell, Plant Bowen, Plant Yates for a total of  38 years.

When he and his wife Delores, decided to get married, a boat instead of an engagement ring sealed the deal. They all enjoyed those many times on the river. He loved to hunt and fish, taking his two boys Josh and Clint on many hunting and fishing trips. He was gifted with several talents, making all kinds of Honey Do items. Anything from metal he could make it. He put up shelves for his wife to display her canned vegetable jars.  He was beloved by friends and family as he was a valued member of the community, and he held a deep love for them as well.

He was proceeded in death by his father W.F. Brown, Sr. and brother, Chris Brown.

Survivors include his wife, Delores Brown of 26 years, sons, Josh Brown (Suzanna), and Clint Brown (Michelle) both of Tallahassee, FL. Two stepdaughters whom he loved as his own, Denise DiFranco and Kimberly Glass of Albany, GA and his mother, Thelma Brown of Ft. Gaines, GA, four grandsons, Hagan, Sumner, Conner and Gavin, one step-grandson, Bailey Parker, a step-granddaughter, Megan Regan, two step great-granddaughters, Hartleigh Parker and Aster Cawthon.

The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.  The family will also receive friends at their home.
