William "Bill" Ernest Nordstrom

William “Bill” Ernest Nordstrom, 78., of Albany, GA, formally of Los Angeles, CA., died Sunday, June 28, 2026 at Wynfield Park Health and Rehabilitation. A memorial service will be held at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, Friday August 14, at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and have a reception immediately following the service. His cremains will be interred in the church prayer garden columbarium.

Bill and his twin sister Mary were born in Tsingtao, China on the hospital ship, USS Repose. The family was stationed in that area while his father was a physician in the United States Navy. He graduated from Albany High School and went on to attend the University of Michigan. Bill graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in History. He loved history, especially Civil War history. Bill had a vast collection of books on the topic and other periods of history. He loved all sports especially golf and Michigan Football.

He worked for many years for Hercules Bumpers, Inc. Bill was the West Coast Division Sales manager for the company. He also worked for LA Financial Credit Union. Bill was of the Episcopal faith and served as an acolyte as a young man at Christ Episcopal Church in Pensacola, FL.

Bill was gifted and entertained others by playing the piano and singing with joy. He acted in “Damn Yankees” at the Albany Little Theater. He embraced the cultural communities and made himself a part of everywhere he lived be it New Orleans, San Fransico, Honolulu and Los Angeles.

He is preceded in death by his wife Patricia Foley Nordstrom, His father Dr. Harry Charles Nordstrom and his wife Dr. Bernice Walters Nordstrom, his mother Dorothy Jones Zoellner and her husband Wotan Zoellner.

Survivors include his sister Karen Sinderson and her husband Dr. Thomas Sinderson of Rockville, MD., his twin sister Mary Shapard and her husband Tom, his nieces and nephews, Nancy Rojas, Edward Sinderson, Ross Nix, Ryan Nix, Patricia Ann Foley and Robert Foley, Jr., and grand nieces and nephews who lovingly called him “Uncle Bill”.

The family would like to thank the caregivers of Wynfield Park Health and Rehabilitation and Affinis Hospice for the kind and loving care they provided for our brother.
