Wilfred R. (Bo) Ruopp, 88, of Albany, GA died Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Albany Health Care. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Dennis Lanning will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens with Masonic Rites.

A native of Niagara Falls, NY, born to the late Martin and Emily Ruopp, Mr. Ruopp graduated from Niagara High School and attended Officer Candidate School at Ft. Benning, GA and had resided in Albany for the past fifty seven years. He served in the United States Army, Engineering Division during World War II and the Berlin Crisis in 1961 before retiring as a Captain from the U.S. Army Reserves. Mr. Ruopp established Dougherty County Glass Company in 1957 and operated it until his retirement in 1987 and was a member of Avalon United Methodist Church.

Mr. Ruopp was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, a member of Dougherty Lodge # 591, Hasan Shrine Center, The Albany Shrine Club and The Royal Order of The Jesters, Albany Court # 159. He was also a member of The American Legion Post #30, BPOE Lodge #713, The retired Officers Association, The Society of American Military Engineers of South West, GA, The Albany SERTOMA Club and The Sportsman Club.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Linda and Jerry Ariail of Arden, NC and Diane and Wayne Barnette of Albany, GA, four grandchildren, Mark Ariail and his wife, Tina, of Charlotte, NC, Ashlyn Milosch and her husband, Ben, of Macon, GA, Krista Ariail of Raleigh, NC, Greg Barnette and his wife, Seretha, of Leesburg, GA and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of forty six years, Ruby Wyatt Ruopp, two brothers, his twin, Alfred Ruopp and Robert Ruopp, a granddaughter, Deborah Barnette and a special friend, Lea Ramsey.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.

The family will be at the residence of Diane and Wayne Barnette, 720 Wildwood Drive, Albany, GA, 31721.
