Wayne Albert Angermeyer

Wayne Albert Angermeyer, 89, of Lee County, GA passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services on Tuesday, December 20, 12:00 p.m. at Andersonville Natl. Cemetery with military honors. Rev. Anna Miller will officiate.

Mr. Angermeyer was born March 24, 1933 in Oak Park, IL, and grew up in Neenah, WI. He married Helen E. Angermeyer on October 6, 1956 and moved to Oshkosh, WI where they raised their three children. Wayne served his  Country in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the First Methodist Church of Albany, GA.

After serving in the Army, he went to school in Chicago IL. With the focus on communications which lead to a position with Wisconsin Bell (AT&T) until his retirement in 1986 which lead them to move to Lee County, Georgia and founded "Flyin A Farms" raising and showing quarter horses.

Wayne was also a active member of the VFW 2785 for many years and enjoyed working on his property building, fixing and  tinkering with projects in his shop.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph Nicholas Angermeyer and Louise Angermeyer, his wife, Helen E. Angermeyer  and a son, William (Bill) Angermeyer.  

Survivors include his children, son David Angermeyer (Maria), Lee County, GA and daughter, Judy Angermeyer Whittaker, Albany, GA, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Mathews Funeral home Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
