Vivian Rutledge Lashley

Vivian Lucille Rutledge Lashley, 73, of Albany, GA passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 30, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Edward Sherrod will officiate. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Lashley was born in Sebring, FL, she was very opinionated and told exactly how she felt. She belived in discipline and respect. She enjoyed baking and arts and crafts. She worked at Kmart for a number of years before entering the Dougherty County School System where she worked her way up from bus driver to a paraprofessional and then finally a Special Ed Teacher.

She was family oriented and taught her daughters how to be strong and independent and to always help someone in need. Her famous quote was, "Love is what it does." We still can't believe she's gone. Its like a dream. She attended East Albany Church of God.

Mrs. Lashley was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Wayne Rutledge, Sr. and Charlotte Lucille Waldron Rutledge

Survivors include daughters, Monica L. Lashley and Jennifer Rustin both of Albany, GA, brother, Dr. Rev. Henry Rutledge (Vickie), Salisbury, NC, stepsons, Tony Etheridge and Michael Ethridge both of Sasser, GA, grandchildren, Kodie Rustin, Gregory K. (Littleman) Rustin, III and Danni Rustin.

The family will receive friends Monday from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at Mathews Funeral Home.
