Vernon "Foots" Courtney Phelps

Courtney was born on September 14, 1954 to the late Lloyd and Inez Phelps in Hamilton, GA.  He grew up in Stewart and Dougherty Counties.  Courtney was employed by the Fred Taylor Company for many years and was retired from Ten Speed Truck Service.  He enjoyed fishing, ornamental iron works and woodworking.   Courtney was preceded in death by his siblings, Doris Escobar-Torres and Latisha Allen.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Phelps of Ocilla, GA, his children, Melissa (Gene) Seybold of Leesburg, GA, Christine (Riccardo) Temples of Baconton, GA, Amanda Starling of Leesburg, GA, Shiann Spurlin Phelps of Ocilla, GA, and Michael (Kayla) Spurlin of Tifton, GA, his siblings, Peggy Mainor of Leesburg, GA, Gail Thompson of Baconton, GA, Faye Wade of Baconton, GA and Donald (Donna) Phelps of Albany, GA, 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends following the service at graveside.
