Venice Cowart Young Roberts

Venice Cowart Young Roberts, 95, of Bronwood, GA, formerly of Albany, GA, passed away, Sunday, June 8, 2025 at Seymour Southern Comforts. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Byne Memorial Baptist Church. Rev. Charlie Brown will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Roberts was born in Adel, GA on May 27, 1930 to Sam W. and Lucy W. Cowart. She graduated from Sparks-Adel High School in 1947 and moved to Albany, GA in 1955. Mrs. Cowart was a member of and very active in Byne Memorial Baptist Church. She served as Food Director, taught eight-year-old Sunday School Class, was a member of and former President and Secretary of the Choir, a member of Women in Missions and active in Senior Adults.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Ben Young and Lester Jefferson (L. J.) Roberts, two step-daughters, Shiron Fisher and Elizabeth “Beth” Teixeira and her husband Dan.

Survivors include her sons, Roger Young of Dothan, AL and David Young (Laney) of Sasser, GA, a step-son, Britt Roberts (Sheila), Sylvester, GA, son-in-law, Neil Fisher, Ashland, KY and ten grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. one hour until the funeral hour at Byne Memorial Baptist Church.
