Timothy Dean Sanders, 61, of Leesburg, GA passed away February 25, 2026. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 2, 2026 at 12:oo Noon at Live Oak Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery Rev. Jamie Sanders will officiate.
He was born in Albany, raised in Leesburg but spent a lot of time in Baker County with his Uncles and Grandparents. He went to Lee County High School and joined the Army afterwards. He was in the Army about 4 years before being honorably discharged. After returning home from the army he spent many years working cows, horses and dogs at several plantations and farms. After that he began doing millwright work, although he never lost his passion for horses, cows, and dogs. He enjoyed fishing and watching Duke basketball (as long as they were winning). He was truly one of a kind and always the life of the party!
Survivors include his children, Kristin Sanders Godfrey (Bo), Colquitt, GA, Jenny Sanders (Sean), Leesburg, GA, Jay Sanders (Ericca), Arlington, GA, Taylor Sanders (Josh), Dawson, GA, siblings, Chris Sanders (Margo), Sylvester, GA, Keith Sanders, Leesburg, GA, grandchildren, Parker Godfrey, Hoake Godfrey, Anna LeBleu, Owen LeBleu, Brantlee Sanders, Ava Sanders, Lane Veal and Andy Veal.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 2, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
