Thomas Alvin “Tommy” McGuire, Jr. 67, of Lee County, GA., died Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses A-Hall, 808 Liberty Expressway, Albany, GA 31705. Minister Rick Ketzel will officiate.
Tommy was born in Dawson, GA to Alvin and Mary McGuire. Tommy worked for Georgia Pacific for over thirty years. After retirement Tommy owned and operated a produce stand and affectionally became known as the “Mater Man”. Tommy became well known by his acts of kindness and compassion for everyone he met. He was a gentle giant who had a servant’s heart, always ready and willing to help anyone he came across no matter what they may need. Tommy never complained and always greeted everyone with a big smile.
He was a member of the Kingdom of Hall Jehovah’s Witnesses. Tommy was a devoted follower and servant of Jehovah. He was a man of strong faith who knew the Bible and shared his faith with others. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary McGuire.
Survivors include his father Thomas Alvin McGuire Sr., his sister, Gail King, his brother Michael McGuire, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and a great great nephew.
