Thomas Bradley (Brad) Murphy

Thomas Bradley (Brad) Murphy passed away on February 2, 2023. Born in Tampa, Florida, on October 4, 1976, he was the son of Brenda Knight Murphy and Thomas Julian Murphy of Albany, Georgia.

Brad graduated from Deerfield-Windsor School in 1995. After receiving a degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia, he was employed by the Sea Island Company in Saint Simons Island, Georgia. He returned to Albany after ten years to work with his father’s business until his father’s retirement. Most recently, he worked for Oxford Construction Company.

Brad loved the outdoors, fishing, and hunting. Having spent many hours on the tennis courts at Saint Simons, he developed a love for the game. He has been described as a kind, sweet, loving man who loved his family. A quiet, compassionate man, Brad was also known as a “gentle giant.” He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his parents, his sister Carmen Murphy Cooper (Brad) of Spartanburg, South Carolina, nephew, Collin, niece, Julia and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A private family service is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at the chapel at First Methodist Church.
