Terry Dennis Griffin

Terry Dennis Griffin, 79, of Sylvester, GA., died Thursday, October 22, 2026 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 24, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Jason Jones will officiate. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Terry was born in Ozark, AL., to the late Max and Verna Griffin. He served his country in the United States Navy. After his military service he went on to work in civil service at the Marine Corps Logistics Base where he retired after working for over twenty-four years. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching football and NASCAR.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Dennis Clayton Griffin, his grandson, Clayton Griffin and his father-in-law, James “Jim” Barnhill.

Survivors include his loving wife of fifty years, Donna Griffin, his daughter Sherry Naylor-Griffin (Tracie “Rusty” Naylor-Griffin), his grandchildren, Baylee Salter, Katie Hobbs and Colt Griffin, his daughter-in-law, Betsy Maxwell Griffin, his brothers, Gary Griffin (Wanda Sue Griffin) and David Griffin (Debbie Griffin), his mother-in-law, Laverne Barnhill, his brother-in-law, D.C. Barnhill (Teresa Barnhill), his sister-in-law, Rena Brewer (Dan Brewer) and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home
