Tamatha Leigh Strassenburg

Tamatha Leigh Strassenberg, lovingly known as “Tambo” to her friends and family, passed away at her home in Jacksonville, Florida on September 10, 2025. She was 58 years old.

Tammy shared 33 years of marriage with her devoted husband, Krist, and together had two daughters, Kristin Knight (Strassenberg) and Kaleigh Woodward (Strassenberg). They shared their home with their beloved dogs, Bubba and Paisley.

Tammy was a true force of nature. You always knew when she entered a room—her energy and her unmistakable presence left an impression on everyone she met. She had a kind and generous heart, always eager to help those around her.

She is survived by her husband Krist, her two daughters Kristin and Kaleigh, her mother (Sybil Collins), Stepfather (Kim Collins), Stepmother (Yvette Bowen), and siblings (Chris Collins (Sharron), Debbie Payne (Jimmy), Sallie Collins-Gordon (Brad), Billie Myrick, and Kenneth Bowen). She is preceded in death by her father (William Bowen).

A Celebration of Life will be held by the family at the Florida Tackle and Gun Club at 9010 San Jose Boulevard in Jacksonville, FL on Monday, September 15th at 6pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Jacksonville Humane Society or The Wounded Warrior Project, in honor of Tammy’s generous spirit, love for animals, and for our military and her country.
