Sylvia Dean Cleburn Leitner

Sylvia Dean Cleburn Leitner of Albany, GA., died Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Pruitt Palmyra Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 13th at 10:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Bullock will officiate. Interment will be held at Brevard Memorial Park in Cocoa ,FL.

Sylvia was born in 1933 to the late Max and Mildred Cleburn in Coalgate, Oklahoma. She was a real estate broker and worked for several agencies in Upstate New York and Oklahoma. Sylvia enjoyed going to garage sales and collecting paper weights and depression glassware. She was a tall, beautiful lady who liked to tell people she was “5.12”. Sylvia was very active in any church she was attending. She was a true prayer warrior and very involved in women’s ministry. Sylvia was a member of Pine Bluff Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Linn J. Leitner, her sister, Grace Murphee and two brothers Max Cleburn and Wayne Cleburn.

Survivors include her son, Dr. Robert “Bob” Leitner (Martha) of Albany, GA, her daughter, Sharon Franz (Roger) of El Dorado Hills, CA, her grandchildren, Jason Leitner, Paige Brooks (Mike), Lindy Shade (Josiah), Thomas Jacobson and Stephanie Jacobson, her great-grandchildren, Gwendolyn Shade and Kevin Brooks, her sister, Mary Lindquist and her brother, Bob Cleburn (Sharia).

The family will receive friends one hour after the service at the funeral home.
