Sue Herring Drapalik

Sue Herring Drapalik of Dawson, Georgia, died Friday March 22, 2024 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital seventeen days after celebrating her 100th birthday. Graveside memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Chaplain Joey Holland will be officiating.

 

Sue was the daughter of the late Mattie Lou Bragan Herring and the late James Climmie Herring of Morgan, Georgia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband Joseph Frank Drapalik, a sister Irell Herring Marsh (Fox), a sister Ann Herring Jennings (George), a brother Curtis Lyn Herring (Betty), and a special niece Barbara Marsh Baugh. 

 

Sue and Frank lived in Atlanta, Georgia, Portland, Oregon, San Francisco, California, and Grand Cayman Island before retiring in Dawson. Sue was a member of the Lutheran Church in Atlanta and attended Dawson United Methodist Church until she was unable. They enjoyed traveling to several countries and cities around the world. 

 

Survivors include many nieces and nephews. She loved her family and enjoyed visiting and spending time with each of them. She treated each one as if they were her own children. 

 

The family wants to send a special thanks to the kind and loving caregivers. Thank you, Mary, Jackie, Ordel, Lela and her niece, Sally Jennings Calhoon.
