Stephen Conant Parker

Stephen Conant Parker of Albany passed from this earthly life on May 4, 2025. He was born in Union Springs, Alabama on August 5, 1962 and raised in Albany since childhood. Steve was an active member of the Albany Chorale, Sons of Jubal, the music ministry of First Baptist Church of Albany, the Old Soulz Band and Tony’s Gym.

He graduated from Westover High School in 1980 and from Valdosta State University in 1992. He was preceded in death by his father, Hunter B. Parker and older brother Henry H. Parker. He is survived by his mother, Anne H. Parker of Albany; his brother Kenneth (Larisa) of Athens, Georgia; nephews James Parker and Matthew Parker (Carina), niece Susannah Parker; and great- niece Penelope Parker of Josephine, TX.

Steve was a kind and helpful person to all. He was the proud owner of Parker Music in Albany. He set a tone of hospitality there for over 30 years. He was eager to sing and play saxophone in community, bands, and church groups. He loved travel, outdoor sports and boating. He practiced his Christian faith in worship, study and fellowship, and was affectionate and generous with his family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Willson Hospice House 320 Foundation Lane, Albany, GA 31707 or the Glioblastoma Foundation, P.O. Box 62066 Durham, NC 27715.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Larisa Parker and Dr. William E. “Butch” Knight will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
