Shirley Ann Evans

Shirley Ann Evans, 85, of Albany, GA passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 12, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Floral Memory Gardens. Rev. David Williams will officiate. 

Born in Donaldsonville, GA, Mrs. Evans grew up in Mayhaw, GA and moved from Bainbridge, GA to Albany, GA in 1964. She and her husband were the owners and operators of Evans Auto and Truck Service for many years. She was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George W. Mathews and Annie Mae Glass Mathews, her husband, Clarence Raymond (Ray) Evans and a sister, Lou Ellen Hester and daughter-in-law, Trish Evans.

Survivors include her daughters, Cheryl Ritter and her husband Steve, Betty Ann Farrow and her husband Ricky all of Albany, GA, a son, Randall (Randy) Evans, Salem, IN, sister, Diane O’Neal, Worth Co., GA, nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday, June 11, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
