Scott Louis Freeland

Scott Louis Freeland, 57, of Albany, GA, passed away March 8, 2026 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 13, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Sam Hall will officiate.

Scott was born in Nashville, TN on September 12, 1968 to Ralph Freeland and JoAnne Smoot Freeland. They moved to Albany, GA in 1973 and grew up in Worth County, GA and was an all-star standout in recreation sports. He graduated from Worth County High School in 1982 where he was on the baseball and football teams.

Scott a member of Antioch Baptist Church, moved back to Albany, GA where he was a self-employed residential contractor. He loved to fix stuff, he loved electronics and watching old movies. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph O. Freeland and a brother, Shawn Freeland.

Survivors include his wife, Julie Caldwell Freeland of Albany, GA, a daughter, Holli Harmon (Cody) of Henderson, TX and a son, Cooper Freeland of Albany, GA, Windham McSwain (Ashlea) of Langley, VA, Lauren McSwain of Lakeland, FL, Leon McSwain of Atlanta, GA and Hobson McSwain (Rachel) of Americus, GA, his mother, JoAnne Johnson of Sumner, GA, a mother-in-law that he dearly loved, Annette Caldwell of Albany, GA, two sisters, Sheri Freeland of Pelham, GA and Sommer Sizemore (John) of Sumner, GA, grandchildren, Autumn McSwain, Zelda McSwain, Zain McSwain and Damon Harman and multiple nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm before the service at Mathews Funeral Home.
