Sara "Sally" Turner Loska, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, longtime public servant, and beloved member of the Parrott community, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on September 11, 2026.
Sally was born on December 31, 1951, in Dawson, Georgia, to the late Cranford Yeomans Turner and Frances McLendon Turner. She grew up in Terrell County and graduated from Terrell High School before continuing her education at Georgia Southwestern, where she earned a degree in accounting.
Sally married Paul Loska, and together they made their home in Parrott, Georgia. Parrott was more than simply the place Sally called home-it was a community she loved deeply and faithfully served. For 30 years, she served on the Parrott City Council, dedicating countless hours to the town and the people who lived there.
Professionally, Sally spent the majority of her career working with McCleskey Mills in Smithville, GA and McCleskey Cotton in Bronwood, GA. Her background in accounting, strong work ethic, and dedication were evident throughout her many years there.
Outside of work and public service, Sally found happiness in the simple things she loved most. She enjoyed gardening and cheering on her beloved Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves. Few things, however, brought her greater joy than spending time with her grandchildren. Being a grandmother was one of the greatest treasures of her life, and the memories she created with them will remain a lasting part of her legacy.
Sally will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her many years of service to her community, her hardworking spirit, and the love she gave so freely to those closest to her. Her life touched not only her family but also generations of friends, coworkers, neighbors, and members of the Parrott community. She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, dedication, and countless treasured memories. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Sally was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Paul Loska. Survivors include her daughter, Laura Copeland (Larron), sons, Paul J. Loska (Debbie), and Scott Loska (Kate). Grandchildren include Summer Word (Stephen), Peyton Parker (Kelly), Harlee Rutland (Derick), Daniel Loska (Elizabeth) , Shea Loska, Lauryn Loska, Bridgette Loska, Robyn Wolfe (Craig), Allyson Bowers (Jade), Kristyn Cox (Wayne) Brady Copeland, Colt Copeland (Anna), 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
The service will be held at Safe Harbor in Parrott, Georgia, Friday, September 18, 2026. The family will receive friends at 12:00 PM and the service will follow at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Wilson Hospice House, 320 Foundation Lane, Albany, GA 31707.
