Sabrina Ward Brown

Sabrina Ward Brown of Albany GA, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at her residence. She was born in Blakely, Georgia to the late Bruce Evans Ward and Janis Elaine Peace Ward and grew up in Arlington, Georgia.

She loved and was very close to her immediate and extended family, and enjoyed their deep faith and rich history. Sabrina loved horses; both riding and competing, drawing, painting, and playing with her brother Evans, sister Joy, and many cousins in her early years. She also spent a lot of time at the family warehousing business, helping and supporting her family. Next to her siblings and cousins, she had a special bond with her Uncle Steve and both grandmothers.

Following High School, she attended Middle Georgia College earning her Associates Degree before starting a very successful 35-year Civil Service Career at Marine Corps Logistics Base, Albany. During that career, she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Albany State University, and a Master of Science in Human Resources Management from Troy State University, and multiple certification programs from both other academic institutions and the Department of Defense. It was later in her career that she acted on her love of education, becoming an Adjunct Professor for LaGrange College of Georgia, teaching Organizational Leadership undergraduate and graduate programs for more than a dozen years.

It was late in her career that she met her husband and soulmate of 25 years, then Major Michael E. Brown at a Sunday afternoon dinner with her sister Joy and family. They were together from that day on, and were married nearly seven months later. They shared a love of faith, family, the outdoors, history and world travel together. When it came to family, spending time with Joy and her nieces Macy and Molly were always a highlight of her life. Even more special to her was watching them have their own families and the arrival of her great-niece, Elaine.

After her retirement, she took her educational interests in another direction, substitute teaching Elementary School with Joy, and later encouraging reading at Elementary Schools with the Dr. Suess Program. She and Joy played the roles were so well received, that they were in demand every year since.

Sabrina’s dedication to faith, family, and a positive outlook on life, only grew stronger over her 18-month battle with pancreatic cancer. She never complained; she met each day with an unwavering drive and commitment to fight and live to the fullest. Her love and support will be dearly missed by her family and many friends; especially her loving husband, Mike.

Sabrina was a Past Regent, Daughters of the American Revolution, Diamond Life Sponsor of the National Wild Turkey Federation, Author of Children’s Books, Song Writer, and much more. Sabrina is survived by her husband Mike, Brother Evans, Sister Joy, Niece Macy and husband Arthur with Great Niece; Elaine and Niece Molly and husband Mitchell.
