With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ruth Briggs Picciotto, who peacefully entered eternal rest on Saturday morning May16th at the age of 80. A graveside service will be held to celebrate Ruth’s life on Tuesday, May, 19, 2026 at 11:00 am at Leesburg City Cemetery. The family will be available for fellowship /visitation after the service.

Ruth was born on April 18, 1946 in Albany, Georgia to Lillian and Noah Breedan. Throughout her life Ruth was known for her kind spirit, laughter, generosity, faith, strength, compassion, and sense of humor. She had the gift of bringing laughter to all who knew her.

She found joy in reading, traveling, church, music, and caring for others. Above all she valued her cherished family, friends, grandchildren, and faith. Ruth touched the lives of many throughout her 30+ years of teaching in the Lee County Schools.

Ruth is lovingly survived by Nick Briggs III her son; Nicolas and Jace Briggs and Shaye Creamer her grandchildren; Layla Creamer her great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband’s Nick Briggs II and Don Picciotto and her siblings Harold Breeden and Theresa Verner.

Though our hearts grieve this loss, we take comfort in the countless memories shared and the love that will continue to remain with us. Ruth’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved.
