Ronald Wayne Rogers, 86, of Sylvester GA formally of Haddock GA, passed away on Monday February 23, 2026 at Pruitt Health Nursing Home in Sylvester. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at the First Baptist Church of Gray, located at 134 W Clinton St, Gray, GA 31032, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. This will be followed by a graveside service at Cedar Ridge Cemetery, located at 111 Green Settlement Road, Gray, GA 31032, starting at 2:30 PM. Rev. Randy Darnell will officiate.
Born on November24, 1939 in Bleckley County Georgia, to the late Jim Henry and Opie Shaw Rogers. Ronald served honorably in the United States Army from 1961 to 1964. After his time in service, he continued to a successful career with Montgomery Ward Elevator, where he retired from in 1998.
A man of simple pleasures, Ronald cherished the moments spent outdoors, particularly when fishing. He also loved to camp with his children during their younger years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gray.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 35 years, Joyce Rogers, as well as his son-in-law, Tommy Perry, and stepson, Jody Tripp.
Ronald is survived by his daughter, Susan Braley (Ken); son, Ronald Rogers (Barbara); sister, Iris Lynch (Robert); and stepdaughters, Lisa Perry, Melinda Neil (Kenneth), Joy Wells, Kathy Barger (Steve), and Cheryl Parker. Grandchildren, Kyle Bartow, Christy Eason (Ryan Hunter), Michael Cox (Danniel Christian), Ashley Neil, Mallory Neil, Kyle Perry (Kristi), Kody Perry (Brittanie), Kaleb Perry and Whitney (Chris) Rhoades. His great-grandsons, Benji, Nolan, Ford, and Hudson Perry and his great granddaughters Danielle Melvin and Alyiah Walker.
