Robert "Lamar" Wills

Robert “Lamar” Wills of Dawson, Georgia passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026 at the Willson Hospice House at the age of 66. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Mathews Funeral Home at 2:00 PM. Inurnment will follow to Parrott City Cemetery, Parrott, GA. Mr. Ross Powell will officiate.

Born February 18, 1960 in Dawson Georgia to Richard Lamar Wills and Sandra Ruth Paul Wills. He was a 1978 graduate of Terrell Academy and attended Georgia Southwestern College. Lamar worked with his father at the family construction company. Then later retired from his career with the Georgia Federal Inspection Services as a respected peanut and pecan inspector.

Lamar loved to shoot any firearm and was a state champion competition shot. Along with his love of Jeeps, he could be found on many rides with his friends of SOWEGA Jeep Club. He was the brother and friend you could call for advise, help or to just talk and was always there. He will be truly missed by all that knew him and loved him. His love for his sister, brother-in-law and niece was the only thing stronger.

He is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Sandra Wills. Survivors include his sister Sandi Wills Payton and Her Husband Allen of Oakwood, GA and his beloved niece Gabby Payton of Oakwood, GA.

The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Mathews Funeral Home.
