Robert Larry Whatley

Robert Larry Whatley, 81, of Leesburg, GA passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Raymond Smith and Rev. Andrew Kornegay will officiate. Interment will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Webster Co., GA at 3:00 p.m.

Born in Donalsonville, Ga, Larry had resided in Albany, GA before moving to Leesburg, GA, he was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was retired from MCLB. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Whatley and Mamie Gilbert Whatley and his wife, Rachel Ellen Smith Whatley.

Survivors include his children, Amanda Whatley Rodriguez, Phenix City, AL, Matthew Whatley and his wife Amanda, Thomaston, GA, brother, Scott Whatley (Ruthann), Clarksville, GA, sister, Jane Whatley Palmer, Ocala, FL and grandchildren, Lauren Rodriguez, Nathan Rodriguez, Alston Whatley and Addiellen Whatley.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
