Robert “Bobby” Wayne Knight

Robert “Bobby” Wayne Knight, 80, of Worth County, GA, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Worth County GA. American Legion Post #335 will provide military honors. Rev. Nick Arbogast will officiate.

Born on May 31, 1945, in Albany GA, to the late William and Gertrude Shiver Knight. Mr. Knight owned and operated Knight’s Starters and Generators, where he served faithfully for 50 years until his retirement. Robert also served his country with honor as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Outside of his professional and military life, Bobby had a deep passion for horses and found great joy in spending time caring for them. He was an avid cook and griller, delights he shared with his family and friends, alongside many cherished moments spent together.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Gertrude and brother Larry Knight.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Julia Ann Knight of Worth County, Georgia, his sons, Shane Knight of Otto, North Carolina, and Heath Knight, along with his wife Leisa, of Ashburn, Georgia, grandchildren Michael Knight, Madison Knight, Christina Hunt (and her husband Adam), Travis Wright (and his wife Bridget), as well as his great-grandchildren Lukas Hunt, Lenora Hunt, Tracelee Wright, and Brevyn Wright and Liam Knight. He is also survived by his brother Kenneth Knight and his spouse Chris.

The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
