Rick "Ricky" Lane McDonald, Sr.

Rick “Ricky” Lane McDonald, Sr. of Leslie, GA., died Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, May 10, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Mr. Ross Powell. A private family interment will follow at Floral Memory Gardens.

Ricky was born in Leslie, GA and worked in sheet metal construction for South Georgia Heating and Cooling for many years. He was a mans man and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ricky also enjoyed all types of stock car racing. One of his greatest things to do was going to McDonalds picnics in the playhouse with Carli. Ricky enjoyed spending time around his friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his father, Gilbert McDonald, two mothers, Edna Gibbs and Ruth McDonald, his grandchildren, Angel Marie Thornton and Conor Franklin McDonald and four brothers, Andrew McDonald, Jack McDonald, Robert McDonald and Earnest McDonald.

Survivors include his wife Barbara Dell McDonald, his children, Ricky McDonald, Jr., Dusty McDonald (Candace), Anna Myers (Charles), Bobby Thornton, Kenny Thornton and Jason Robarts, his siblings, Robin Owens (Paul), Scotty Barfield and Vernon McDonald, thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
