Richard Johnson, 58, of Leesburg died, Friday, April 10, 2026.

His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Mathews Funeral Home with interment in Thundering Springs Cemetery. Rev. Robert Prescott will officiate.

Born in 1967, Richard had lived in Lee County all of his life. He started working at Southwestern Machine and Tool when he was fifteen years old. He was an avid outdoorsman loving to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed working on guns and knives and always was ready to help a friend.

Survivors include his son Walker Johnson, sister, Patricia Lynn Johnson Spindle (Ben), brother, Jeffrey Wayne Johnson (Rita) and his friend Teresa Burns.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Mathews Funeral Home.
