Rhonda Casey Burnett

Rhonda Casey Burnett, 60, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Arrangements will be announced.

Born on September 20, 1965, Rhonda lived a life deeply rooted in faith, love, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. She retired from the federal government after 34 years with USDA Rural Development. Beyond her career, her true passion was serving others. Rhonda spent over 30 years serving in Children’s Ministry, leaving a lasting mark on hundreds of young lives. Rhonda and her husband Robert built a home that was always open - offering homecooked meals, kindness, and shelter to anyone in need. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially being "Gamma" to her four precious grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 35 years, Robert Burnett of Port St. Joe, Florida; her three children, Christopher Ferrell (Kaci) of Leesburg, Georgia, Casey Burnett (U.S. Navy, Washington), and Allison Sievers (Eli) of Port St. Joe, Florida; her father, Ronnie Casey (Paulette) of Colbert, Georgia; her sister, Renee Newman (Keith) of Hoschton, Georgia; her sister-in-law, Shannon Waskiewicz (Andy) of Watkinsville, Georgia, and her mother-in-law Annette Stone of Port St. Joe, Florida. She was the proudest "Gamma" to her four grandchildren, Emily Ferrell, Gunner Burnett, Casey Sievers, and Gwenivere Sievers. She also leaves behind her favorite nieces and nephews, and many beloved cousins and extended family members that meant the world to her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Gladney Casey, her father-in-law, Thomas Stone, and her two grandchildren Avery Ferrell and Peyton Ferrell.

In addition to the main funeral services, two regional services of remembrance will be held for local family and friends (casket will not be present). The first one on Thursday, September 3, at 7:00 PM at Highland View Baptist Church in Port St. Joe, Florida and an additional service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday, September 8, at 7:00 PM at The Church of Pierce Road in Winder, Georgia.
