Rachel Renee Oxendine

Rachel Renee Oxendine, 61, of Albany, died Sunday, August 11, 2024 at her residence.

Her memorial service will be Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 2:30 PM at Sherwood Baptist Church. Rev. Alex Kendrick and Rev. Stephen Kendrick officiating.

Born in Griffin, GA, Mrs. Oxendine had lived in Albany for the past six years moving here from Smyrna. She was a teacher at Sherwood Christian Academy for the past six years and previously taught at Cumberland Christian Academy for twenty-nine years. She was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church and the Fitness Connect Group.

Renee was devout in her faith. She was funny, smart,energetic, loving and always had a little sparkle in her eyes. She adored her family, friends, students, Christmas and the beach. But, Coca-Cola was top tier. She loved with her whole heart without judgement. She always found a way to teach about the Lord and his grace. Renee was and always will be a true definition of a Proverbs 31 woman. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Faith Cooper. 

Survivors include her husband and best friend, Gary Oxendine, her father, Jessie Cooper, sisters, Jessica Buice, Stephanie Walters (Shannon), nieces, Peyton Brooks (Javonte), Danielle Ballas (Clay), Jennifer Duran (Jacob), Carolee Lamb (Stephen), Marianna Oxendine, nephews, Joshua Oxendine (Brooke), Tim Minge (Denise), Jonathan Minge (Whitney), Jeremy Oxendine (Heather), Caleb Oxendine (Rebekah), Andrew Oxendine (Tiffany), and Corey Oxendine.
