Preston Tucker, Jr., age 75, of Lee County, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home covered in prayer and love on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Preston fought a good fight -kept the faith-and finished his course taking exceptional care of those God had given him.

Preston was born on February 25, 1951, in Pelham, Georgia, to the late Preston Tucker, Sr. and Flossie Lashley Tucker. He grew up in Albany, Georgia, and graduated from Albany High School.

Preston had an unmatched work ethic. He worked for many years with Merck Chemical Company in construction management with the site engineering department. After the plant closed, he finished his career as a field engineer with the V.C. Summer Nuclear Station in South Carolina.

Preston was a true outdoorsman, and he loved deer hunting and fishing; especially for bream using a cane pole. He shared his love of the outdoors with the next generations. His family will always cherish the special memories made during weekends spent hunting together at the cabin, where stories were shared and traditions were passed down.

Preston enjoyed playing softball with Thomas Memorial Baptist Church for many years where he was also a church member. He also enjoyed bowling, volleyball and weightlifting.

Preston was preceded in death by his parents, Preston Tucker, Sr. and Flossie Mae Lashley Tucker; and his siblings, John Tucker, Wiley Tucker, and Mary Jane Lairsey.

Survivors include his wife of forty-five years, Shelia Tucker of Lee County; his children, Chanda White of Atlanta, Haley Tucker Clark (Travis) of Thomasville, Georgia, and Joshua Preston Tucker of Lee County. He was a proud grandfather who loved and adored his three grandsons, Dawson, Owen, and Brooks Clark, and one granddaughter, Kayla Mote and two great-grandchildren, Lily Vega and Naomi Linsly. He is also survived by his brother, Ronnie Tucker of Albany, Georgia.

His family also includes siblings in love, Shanna and Andy Allison, Gene and April Singletary, and dear friends James and Joy West. Preston also was blessed with beloved nieces and nephews, Ansley and Evan Allison, Early Singletary (Jessica), Kaylee Singletary, Liz Oliviero and great-niece FreyaSingletary, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

Thank you, Abby, Stacy, Makalah, and Casey, for the exceptional care you provided to Preston during his battle with Parkinsonism- Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.

Preston attended Sherwood Baptist Church with his wife, Shelia, and Sherwood’s online worship service was a blessing during his illness. His greatest focus and joy in life were his children and grandchildren. He lived a life filled with love, faith, and dedication to his family and friends.
