Preston Elliot Eidson

Preston Elliot Eidson, 16, of Terrell County, GA entered into eternal peace on  Sunday, August 20, 2023 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 25, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Shellman Depot in Shellman, GA. Rev. Raymond Smith will officiate.

Preston was born in Albany, GA on March 8, 2007 and lived in Albany and Worth County until moving to Terrell County six years ago. He was a Junior at Southwest Georgia S.T.E.M. Charter Academy where he particularly enjoyed working in the Greenhouse.

He was the only son of Barbara Eidson of Terrell County, Georgia, and the step-son of Kevin Davis, who enjoyed many outdoor activities with him. He was a protective big brother to his little sister, Aaryauna Davis.

He was also the son of Adam Powell and step-son of Tonya Powell. He was a big brother of their son Eli Powell. Maternal grandparents are William and Kay Eidson. Paternal grandparents are Eric and Tammy Haguawood. Great Grandparents include Elmira Tyson, Barbara Allen, Chris Powell and Susan Powell. He had numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Preston had a very active social life and many, many friends. His closest friend was Dacus Jones of Shellman, Georgia. He was loved like another son by Dacus’ parents, Jessica and Wyatt Jones. Preston and Dacus dreamed of being college roommates, but their first priority was to take turns driving an eighteen-wheeler truck across the country.

Preston loved the outdoors. He loved basketball, baseball, hunting, fishing and riding on four-wheelers. When Dacus was asked about Preston’s greatest passion, he firmly answered, “Girls.”

Indeed Preston represented everything a true, small-town southern teenage boy entails. He was fun-loving, a bit of a prankster, generous and very well-mannered. He was his mother’s heart. He will be sorely missed by so very many friends and family members.

A visitation will be held Friday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the Shellman Depot.
