Phillip Jackson

July 21, 1967 — February 7, 2026

Phillip Jackson, age 58, of Buena Vista, Georgia, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2026, at Piedmont Columbus. Born on July 21, 1967, Phillip devoted his life to the service of others through his distinguished 33-year career in Emergency Medical Services.

A highly respected Paramedic, mentor, and educator, Phillip’s compassion and professionalism left an indelible mark on countless lives across Georgia and beyond. Born in Albany, Phillip retired from Dougherty County EMS where he served as a Paramedic and Shift Supervisor. He was the CEO and President of National Association of Tactical Educators (NATEC) and previously served as a Tactical Training Coordinator for the Georgia EMS Association, where his leadership helped shape the next generation of EMS professionals. Through his career, Phillip taught numerous courses and educated thousands of students, inspiring many through both his knowledge and his example.

Beyond his career, Phillip was a man of great curiosity and craftsmanship. He had a gift for mastering any skill he set his mind to — from woodworking and carpentry to motorcycle riding and mechanical work. Phillip’s passion for teaching extended beyond the classroom; he was known for his signature reminder to his students: “Move with a Purpose.” It was not just a phrase, but a reflection of how he approached life — with intent, energy, and heart.

Phillip is survived by his beloved child Blake Jackson, Blake’s mother Hope Mashburn Littleton, his cherished grandson Hayven Aycock-Jackson, and the brotherhood of instructors who will carry forward his legacy of strength, curiosity, and kindness. He is also remembered by countless friends, students, and colleagues in the EMS community who viewed him as both a mentor and a friend.

A Celebration of Life Service, officiated by Rev. Hal Pinson, will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Byne Memorial Baptist Church, 2832 Ledo Road, Albany, Georgia. All friends, family, students, and members of the EMS family are invited to attend as we celebrate the life and legacy of a true servant and teacher.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the GoFundMe account established in Phillip’s memory, benefiting NATEC and supporting Blake and Hayven’s educational needs — continuing Phillip’s legacy of learning and service.
