Patty Sue Hicks

Patty Sue Hicks, 69, of Magnolia Manor Nursing Center, Americus, GA, died Friday, September 13, 2013 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, September 15, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Magnolia Manor Chapel. Dr. William D. (Biff) Coker will officiate. Interment will follow in Andersonville National Cemetery at a later date.

Born in Albany, GA, Mrs. Hicks was raised in Leary, GA. She was the daughter of Edward Hurst and Kathryn Stringfellow Hurst. She was a graduate of the Edison High School and had been a legal secretary at the state capital for many years and was a bookkeeper with Marbury Engineering before retirement. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church where she taught children's Sunday School Class.

Survivors include a daughter, Kristin Hicks and her husband Al, Flagler Beach, FL, a brother, Charles ( Buddy) Hurst, Lakeland, FL, two sisters, Deloris Turner, Albany, GA and Sandra Morgan, Eufaula, AL.
