Pattie Karen Frakes, 86, of Sylvester, GA, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Mathews Funeral Home at 6:00 PM. Rev. Dean Long will officiate.
Born on July 12, 1939, in East Fultonham, Ohio, to the late Raymond Glenn and Ruth Noyes Bates. Karen devoted 35 years of her career to the pharmacy department at Phoebe Putney. she was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, and enjoyed going when she was able.
In addition to her professional life, she sang with the Adeline Singers, a talented group that achieved remarkable success, earning second place in a state competition. Furthermore, her love for gardening was evident in her vegetables she grew and tending to her flower beds.
Preceding her in death are her beloved sons, Zane Frakes and Barry Frakes; her brother, Richard Bates; her stepfather, Almer Clogston; and her two half-sisters, Nancy Clogston and Barbara Clogston.
She is survived by her sister, Connie Coppinger of Jasper, Tennessee; daughters-in-law, Loretta Frakes of Sylvester, Georgia, and Kathy Frakes of Baconton, Georgia; as well as five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren.
A visitation will take place on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
