Nora Elizabeth Urick

Nora Elizabeth “Libby” Urick, 99, of Albany, GA, passed away peacefully at her home Monday morning, January 26, 2026. A visitation will be held Saturday January 31, 2026 from 2:00 pm until 3:30 pm in the parlor of Porterfield Methodist Church. At a later date there will be a memorial service at Ohio UP Church Aliquippa, PA and her cremains will be interred with her husband in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Rochester, PA.

 Mrs. Urick was born in Quiet Dell, WV on March 12, 1926 to Clyde and Ruby Nale. She grew up there and in Aliquippa, PA where she graduated from Hopewell High School. Mrs. Urick married, Saava Urick in 1947 and they were married for fifty years before his death in 1998. To support the war effort she worked in the open hearth department at J&L Steel Company. She also was employed at G.C. Murphy Company and worked as a secretary at Hopewell High School. Libby moved to Albany, GA in 2015 from Aliquippa, PA to be closer to her son and family. Through the years she was an active member of Ohio United Presbyterian Church serving as a Deacon, a Sunday School Director and a teacher. She enjoyed being the Vacation Bible School Director and was a long time choir member. In her later years she enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flowers, sewing, needlework, Christmas trips with her siblings and special times with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Peters, sisters Dorothy Gobert and Nancy Connors, and brothers Clyde Nale Jr. and Thomas Nale.

Survivors include her sons, Bob (Sheila) Urick of Albany, GA and Kenneth (Susan) Urick of The Villages, FL, son-in-law, Rob Peters of Mercer, PA, her siblings, Ella Mae Spieker, Edna Petrella and Martha Lackovich all of Aliquippa, PA, William (Alice) Nale of Chesterton, IN, Richard “Jim” (Sharon) Nale of Sevierville, TN, Helen Antoline of Monaca, PA, her grandchildren, Ryan Urick of Albany, GA, Erin (Sam) Curzi of Kennerdell, PA, Todd (La Donna) Urick of Albany, GA, Bret (Betsy) Urick of Albany, GA, Adam Urick of Murfreesboro, TN, Stacey Philhower of Texas, Tim (Marsha) Urick, of Orlando, FL, Rebecca (Jeremy) Cummings, of Columbus, GA, Dayna Sensaboy of Chelsea, AL and sixteen great-grandchildren. As well as many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers those desiring may make memorials in memory of Mrs. Urick to Ohio United Presbyterian Church, 1236 Longvue Ave., Aliquippa, PA 15001.
