Nancy Jo Fox Walters, 65, of Sylvester, Georgia, passed away peacefully in Leesburg, Georgia, on October 17, 2026, at 1:10 p.m.
Born in Illinois, Nancy spent her childhood traveling the world with her family before they eventually settled in Sylvester, Georgia. She went on to build a career in civil service with Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) at the Marine Corps Logistics Base, where she dedicated over 30 years of service.
Nancy wore many hats throughout her life, but perhaps her most cherished roles were those of a loving mother and grandmother. She believed in tough love when it was needed, but it was always rooted in a love that was unwavering and unconditional. She had a heart for people and a special way of making everyone feel welcome. If you walked through her front door, you weren't a stranger for long. You were family.
Nancy had a gift for seeing the good in others and would do whatever she could to help someone in need. She gave freely of herself, loved deeply, and made a difference in the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.
Her happiest moments were often the simplest ones spent with family. She especially treasured her spontaneous lunch dates with her grandson, Michael, and loved sharing her creative talents with her granddaughter, Amelia. These moments, filled with laughter, love, and the joy of simply being together, were among the memories she cherished most.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bobbie Elden Fox and Genevia Gay Price Fox.
She is survived by her son, Jason Walters (Candie) of Americus; her daughter, Jennifer Senn (Brian Fletcher) of Leesburg; her grandchildren, Michael Senn and Amelia Walters; her siblings, Linda Synder (Terry) of LaFayette, Kenneth Fox (Rhonda) of Baconton, and Robert Fox of Albany; her nephews, Michael Cook (Genny), Garrett Fox (Katy); and her niece, Katie Fox.
Though Nancy's presence will be deeply missed, the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of the family and friends who loved her.
In accordance with Mrs. Walters' wishes, her immediate family will hold a private memorial service to honor her life and the love she shared with her family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
