MSgt. Edward George Walls, USMC (Ret.)

Edward George Walls, of Albany, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at Cordele Health and Rehab at the age of 86. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 5, 2025 at Byne Memorial Baptist Church at 11:00 AM and the interment will follow to Andersonville National Cemetery at 2:00 pm. Rev. Charlie Brown  will officiate.

Born on March 17, 1939, in Monroe, New York, to the late Patrick and Sarah Barley Walls. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for 20 years and retired at the rank of MSgt. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

After he retired from the US Marine Corps, he became an entrepreneur and started multiple landscaping businesses but was known as owner of Services Unlimited, where he dedicated over 30 years of his life to designing beautiful landscapes and serving his customers.

A man of deep faith, Ed was a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church where he was passionate about his relationship with the Lord and found joy in attending church services. In addition to his professional achievements, Ed took great pleasure in landscaping and working in his flowerbeds. He treasured the simple joys of life, often gathering with his friends for breakfast at Burger King.

Ed was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Renee Goodman; sons, Steve Walls and Fred Walls; and his brother, Joseph "Joe" Walls.

He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Lois Walls of Albany, Georgia; his children: Daniel Walls (Heather) of Sylvester, Georgia; Wayne Walls (B.J.) of North Carolina; David Walls of Atlanta, Georgia; Christie Schuler of LaGrange, Georgia; and Amanda Schuler of Heflin, Alabama. He’s also survived by his nine grandchildren and one great- grandchild, and his siblings, Mary Ann Roberts (Richie) of Scranton, Pennsylvania, and Sarah Lee Flanning of California, and Geraldine DeAngelis of Blossvale, NY. 

A visitation will be held on September 5, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Byne Memorial Baptist Church, located at 2832 Ledo Rd, Albany, GA 31707.
