Mona Faye Williams, 88, of Albany, GA, died August 5, 2025 at The Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Avalon Methodist Church. Rev. Debbie Cone will officiate. Interment will follow at 4:30 pm in Sparks City Cemetery, Sparks, GA.

Mrs. Williams was born in Sparks, GA on June 21, 1937 to Slater Archie and Odessa Holder Norris. She grew up in Sparks, GA and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age at The Sparks Methodist Church and served Him in many ways throughout her life. Mrs. Williams was an Honor Graduate of Cook County High School, Class of 1955 and a graduate of Jones Business College in Jacksonville, FL. She married Daniel Leroy Williams on April 21, 1957 and they were married for 33 years before his death on July 6, 1990.

Her thirty-four-year Civil Service Career began June 1956 at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, GA. She was also employed with Health, Education and Welfare, Public Health Service, Communicable Disease Center in Atlanta, GA and the Social Security Administration in Augusta, GA. Mrs. Williams retired 1990 from the Marine Corps Logistic Base in Albany as a Supervisory Personnel Staffing Specialist.

Mrs. Williams was very active in her community as a member of NARFE, Chapter #643 and served as Service Center for several years. She was a hospital volunteer for thirty years beginning in 1991 at Palmyra Medical Center. She continued her service through March 2020 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital until the Pandemic. In 2007, she was the recipient of Palmyra Medical Centers first Humanitarian Award (Volunteer Of The Year Award). Mrs. Willliams was an active participant in the Heart of Georgia Emmaus Community and served on the Board of Directors of The Heart of Georgia Walk to Emmaus and served as Lay Director of Walk # 97, February 2003.

Mrs. Williams was a member of Avalon Methodist Church and The Friendship Sunday School Class where she served as the assistant Sunday School Teacher. For over thirty years, Mrs. Williams was employed as the Administrator for Avalon Methodist Church and was a committed, faithful prayer warrior throughout her service.

She enjoyed the special family time she shared at Mexico Beach and Panama City Beach for many years and encouraged her family to more fully appreciate and enjoy God’s wonderous creation.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Leroy Williams, a brother, Archie Lee Norris and his wife, Margaret W. Norris, a brother-in-law, Eugene Williams and a grandson, Christopher Lee Hopkins, survivors include her daughters, Pamela W. Hopkins (Ike) and Leigh W. Warren (Randy), her grandchildren, Ashleigh W. King (Brayden) and Heather W. Harrell (Brandon), Brian M. Hopkins (Ashley), Joshua T. Wardrip (Bret) and Ryan D. Warren (Terra), her great-grandchildren, Adalyn and Aiden Hopkins, Mason and Caleigh Horton, Walker Wardrip, Shelby Brown (Nathan), Laney, Bryan, William and Carlos Harrell, and Payton Warren and her nieces and nephews, Pat N. Watson, Todd, Thad and Gina Williams, Andy Williams and Nancy Baker.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Avalon Methodist Church.
